Each spring, Andre the seal swims hundreds of miles to visit the Whitney family in Rockport, Maine, who rescued him as an orphaned pup. Nine-year-old Toni's shyness all but disappears when Andre joins her in playtime fun. However, the local fisherman fear that Toni's father, the harbor master, is not protecting their livelihood in favor of the seals in the area.
