When Ahmed lived in Kuwait, he looked after the pet birds that lived in cages behind his house. But since moving halfway across the world to an apartment in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Ahmed and his family haven't been allowed to keep any birds. So when Owen and Iris, two nature guardians, visit his classroom to talk about the many risks facing the piping Plover, Ahmed knows what he must do - help care for the tiny, fragile birds.
