When newspaper reporter Geri LaRue arrives in San Francisco to start her new job, she learns that her friend, award-winning journalist Leta Blackburn, is missing. Leta was investigating the murder of a priest at the hands of a female serial killer at the time of her disappearance. Geri turns to prominent therapist Malcolm Piercy--who understands what goes on inside the twisted mind of the predator the papers are calling The Razor Killer--for help in finding her friend.
