Summary
Before passing away, King Henry appointed three men to administer England until his fourteen-year-old son Prince Andrew came of age: Earl William, Duke Philip and Baron Charles. The latter was entrusted with the custody of the crown, a symbol of power. However, when the crown prince, who is nevertheless an experienced horseman, has a terrible fall from his horse which plunges him into a coma, Philip undertakes to do everything in his power to usurp the throne. Having refused to be an accomplice in his Machiavellian plans, Baron Charles sees his estate burned down and is thrown into the dungeon. However, his son Gaylord managed to flee, taking the crown with him. Not knowing where to go, or even if his father is still alive, the teenager is refused by a peasant and his daughter, Eleanor. But the henchmen of the cruel duke are quick to track him down and shoot the peasant for insubordination. Gaylord and Eleanor now have only one hope: to join Count William and make him an ally.
