Summary
:
The stranger : A stranger arrives in Virginia City -- a police inspector determined to take Ben Cartwright back to New Orleans to face a murder charge that Ben believes was cleared twenty years ago.
The avenger -- Ben and Adam are in a New Orleans jail waiting to be hanged while Hoss and Little Joe are working desperately on a petition to set them free. The prospects are looking grim until another stranger rides into town. This one, however, believes he can save Ben and Adam.
