Summary
Ted was born into a family of great wealth and privilege. After the untimely and tragic deaths of his three older brothers, Ted inherited the weight of his father's political ambitions, and served as surrogate father to the 13 children of his slain brothers. Early scandals and public displays of womanizing and drunkenness are contrasted with his stellar marks as U.S. Senator.
