Summary
Clare used to be a poisonous 13-year-old girl, who lied, stole and cared for no one but herself, but after she dies in an accident, she is transformed into a stray cat, trying to survive in the streets of this troubled Palestinian city. She seeks refuge in a house with two Israeli soldiers and an orphaned Palestinian boy. When the neighbours discover the soldiers are holding the boy, a near-riot breaks out, and Clare has to decide whether to take a risk to help other people or to slink away and save her own skin.
