Bordeaux Jail is a men's prison in Montreal. For some inmates, jail acts as a catalyst that produces an urgent need to speak out, to express thoughts and feeling repressed or held back too long. Some of the men have become a part of Souverains anonymous, a unique radio show broadcast once a week on community radio stations in Quebec, that can be heard throughout Canada and France. Though they may be prisoners of the past, in front of the microphone the men discover the power of their own voices. Their bodies may be imprisoned but their words are free.
