Summary
The story takes place in France in the early 1960s. It depicts Louis, a young man a little bit round, not the style of boy that pleases women. Orphaned, he grew up until his majority in an orphanage, raised by the Jesuit brothers. His natural embonpoint and his problems of sight do not plead in his favor during the adoption, he will see his comrades depart one after the other. Anyway, he does not really have friends, Louis is the scapegoat of all. The only good moments that Louis knows are those he passes in the circus Marcos who comes to plant his marquee in a vacant lot of the city. There, everything lights up in him, he smiles, he gets excited and then there is Clara, the elephant tamer. Clara, beautiful, who with the return of the circus in the city becomes her confidante, her friend, her lover ... Clara falls in love with Louis and leaves his family and his circus to live with him. They will know happy and carefree days ....
