Summary
Forensic psychologist Paula Maguire is wrestling with the hardest decision of her life, and when she's asked to help find out who has taken a baby from a local hospital, she knows she will have put to her own problems on hold. However when the brutal, ritualistic murder of a woman, found in a stone circle with her stomach cut open, indicates that there may be a connection to the kidnapping, Paula knows that they will have to move fast if they are to find the person responsible. Then another child is taken and a pregnant woman goes missing, and Paula finds herself caught up in a deadly hunt for a killer determined to leave no trace, and discovers every decision she makes really is a matter of life and death.
