A feature length documentary focusing on the portrait artist Manon Elder as she completes a series of portrait paintings (27 in all) in an attempt to redefine the image of Canadian icon Emily Carr. The documentary follows the process of the creation of these paintings. Following Emily{u2019}s footsteps through the wilderness, a story of discovery, inspiration and understanding is driven home. It is also an inspiring portrait of artist Manon Elder, through the eyes of director Kristina Campbell. It is an examination of the artistic process, from first inspiration to final execution.
