Murderers, Rapists, Dog fondlers, DNA thieves. Outlaw journalist Spider Jerusalem has covered them all in the course of his long and heavily medicated career. But such horrors are like a frolicsome kitten compared to the ultimate expression of human degradation: politics. Unfortunately for Spider's sanity, it's an election year, and his audience wants - nay, demands - saturation coverage of the spectacle. So with the help of a new assistant and several syringes of quasi-legal substances, that's exactly what he's going to give them. However, not even his years of hard-won experience can prepare Spider - or the world - for the depravity that's about to come crawling into the light.
