Colombe Barou is an unremarkable woman in her thirties, with a husband who travels a lot, teenage twins and a job as a ghostwriter that doesn't really interest her. Her boring life suddenly changes when the family moves to another beautiful apartment. There is one downside: the upstairs neighbor, Dr. Faucleroy, plays loud rock music in the middle of the night, but only when Colombe's husband is not at home. Then the publisher asks her to write the memoirs of a movie star with a turbulent sex life. The prudish Colombe has to read erotic literature to strike the right tone. Reading in the evening, as she anxiously waits for Faucleroy to put the Stones back on, her sensuality blossoms and she comes to the conclusion that her own sex life is not much. Colombe's frustrations, newfound sexual desires and anger toward her upstairs neighbor pile up and become entwined. When Colombe finally decides to sneak into the apartment of the mysterious Faucleroy, it sets in motion a series of irreversible events, with unforeseen consequences.
