This book can potentially help with Adult Education ESL. It is a book with a simple plot and simple vocabulary. It is meant to be light reading and a gateway to help adult learners (usually age 16 and higher) to read longer, more complex English literature, as well as to develop extensive reading skills. The book has been reviewed and approved by Adult learners. The author ran a book club for her students and found that mostly children's book were readily available at her students' reading levels. Something more dignified and respectful of adult learners was in order so that adults learning English, whether for adult literacy or ESL purposes, could read simply-written books that reflect adult life. All who read this book could potentially more easily understand the American English language and culture through the eyes of the main character as she deals with housing, challenging neighbors, and the police.
