Summary
Jake is 21, but he sometimes feels like he's a hundred. That's what happens when you grow up too fast, under the spotlight. A young actor prodigy, his success is ancient history, however, and his recent escapades have knocked him off his pedestal to land in his childhood bedroom at his parents'. Jake leads a gray life: he searches for reasons to pursue her, but they are as rare as pleasure in his days without sunshine. ÔEmilie is 18 years old, she is starting her last year of CEGEP. Ambitious, she dreams of becoming a doctor. However, she has had a Grand Canyon-sized flaw running through her body since her first love left her in early summer. But behind this pain hides another, deeper still: that created by his father, the day he left his family to start a new life. ÔEmilie would like to rebuild herself, but the pieces are small and the puzzle is endless. On the surface, Emily and Jake have nothing in common except their gaping heart wounds and their jobs at the local pizzeria. And yet, over their evenings Sprite and small talk, a precious relationship will be woven between them, imbued with the hope that dawn always returns, even after the darkest of nights.
