Summary
Anna Karenina is the young wife of Alexis Karenin, a Russian diplomat. She is on a mission of mercy to help her brother patch things up with his wife after an injudicious affair. While helping her brother, Anna meets the dashing officer, Count Alexis Vronsky. Anna is soon swept off her feet by Vronsky and begins an affair of her own. When Karenin finds out, he offers to forgive Anna is she will leave Vronsky. She refuses. It is a decision that will have tragic consequences.
