Between escape, history and personal reflection, this work follows the journey of Paul Houde as he crosses the United States aboard a recreational vehicle. Designed like a notebook, punctuated with careful observations (including on the weather) and "scenes cut during editing", the format gives free rein to the author's remarks. There are records of his discoveries and his impressions of the places of memory dear to his generation (the field where Woodstock took place; the Lorraine motel, in Memphis; the school book depository, in Dallas, etc.), but above all his enthusiasm in front of this complex country with a thousand faces whose founding events he seeks to understand.
