The fairytale Elay, home of the Errish, no longer exists. Dead people lie in the streets and fine, gray, deadly dust has settled over everything. They won't find the help Skar and Kiina are looking for here. Instead, the Quorrl who form their accompanying party are ambushed by the last surviving Errish. Skar tries to reconcile the mortal enemies because Quorrl and humans can only win together against the Starborn - and he doesn't even know how little time he has left.
