Summary
The Arctic is a special world shaped by ice and wind. A huge frozen sea sitting on top of the world, surrounded by dry lands... It is comprised of sea ice, the ice shield. Huge and desolate plains, the tundra. Mountains and glaciers. A world apart, inhabited by unique fauna which adapted to extremes conditions, on the edge of survival. A huge reserve of fresh water for the planet and regulator for the climate of the northern hemisphere, the Arctic, a fragile world, is today threatened. Will it disappear when we are just beginning to discover its abundance?
