This book was conceived as a love letter to Black America, celebrating the passion and perseverance of their greatest athletes, artists and activists. It is also a poem for ordinary people who bravely go through history. There are traumatic traces of slavery and the civil rights movement, which gave birth to heroes, at the heart of unspeakable injustices. In short, despite all the obstacles, black Americans have been able to develop an unshakeable and truly cool culture.
