The Installation manual is presented in five sections with a series of five supplements included at the back of the manual. The first section, Basics, introduces the basic concepts of building science and the need for ventilation in residential buildings. Section 2, Installation Requirements, presents the characteristics of a good ventilation system and highlights the link between these characteristics and the relevant codes and standards. In the third section, the application of the requirements for ventilation systems as set out in the applicable codes and standards is examined. The fourth section examines the steps involved in the design review of a ventilation system. The fifth section deals with the steps involved in starting up and testing a new system.
