When the heart cries: Hannah, raised in the Old Amish ways, has fallen in love with Paul, a Mennonite. On the evening of their engagement, tragedy strikes and Hannah faces the possibility of losing her place in her family, her community and int he heart of the man she loves.

When the morning comes: When her relationship with Paul comes to an end, Hannah Lapp heads to Ohio in hopes of finding refuge with another Amish outcast, and a deepening friendship with Martin Palmer helps her cope as she struggles to understand the contemporary world.

When the soul mends: When Hannah Lapp reluctantly returns to the Old Order Amish community that she grew up in in order to help her sister, she is torn between her new life and love in the outside world and life in the community with her first love.
