Branded a killer, gunman Starky True heads to Montana and wraps himself in a new identity. There, as a stock inspector, Starky's wearing a badge and tracking down rustlers. Then, greedy rancher Ralph Glendenning delivers an ultimatum--give free rein to the High Fives, a pack of rustlers terrorizing Glendenning's rival ranchers--or he'll blow Starky's cover and see him hang.
