Women and Sadness looks at the factors in women's lives that lead to the increased occurrence of depression as well as the unique difficulties women have in finding good therapy, and offers strategies to overcome those difficulties. Too often women's problems have been trivialized or dismissed by those whose job it is to help. Women and Sadness validates women's experiences, noting that depression is often a reasonable (and sane!) response to the situations many women find themselves in.
