A Journey for a memory took me home to Newfoundland to visit my mother, who was living in a long-term care facility. My mother had Alzheimer's so there was a very good chance she would not remember me, but if there was even the slightest chance she would, I had to find out. That trip my mother gave me the first of her last gifts to me. The Final Journey took me back to Newfoundland to prepare me to say goodbye to my mother, but one can't prepare for such a parting. It would be on this trip that I was to receive the last and final earthly gift from my mom.
