In 1928, aspiring archaeologist Laetitia Talbot arrives at an excavation site on the island of Crete, where she meets the world renowned and disagreeable archaeologist Theodore Russell, but the dig goes terribly awry when the ancient site becomes the scene of an all too modern murder.
