Summary:
Newfoundlanders are friendly people, easy to get along with, most of us don't like drama. In my opinion because of this we have being robbed of monetary gains from our resources and of our culture. We have been taken advantage of by parasite groups and bullied by government people to justify their make work programs and to justify their own existence. This book is written from notes and observations close to 55 years. This book I have been very hesitant to write because it is going to upset a lot of people but the truth needs to be told. Maybe the government will read it and be more tolerant of our culture and heritage. This book starts off meek and mild but ends with a different note. The Canadian Constitution says we are all equal under the law, are we really? In my opinion we are not. Do you really thing the Canadian Government would treat the Indigenous people of Newfoundland the same way has they have treated the white people when it comes to the law? A person needs to be very strong minded to work in resources making a living in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador because of laws made by people who have little understanding about us and our culture or care in my opinion. For a society to work we need laws and regulations but they must be sensible, made by sensible people and administrated by sensible people to make it fair and right.
