From 1885 to the turn of the century, Captain Henry Lawson, his wife Lucy, journalist Edwin Carter Morrison and Lawson's command, the all-black 25th Cavalry, travel from the heartland of America, to the vicious Apache campaigns of the Southwest to the jungle warfare of the Spanish-American War in the Philippines.
