Like Narnia, it approaches religious themes through a genre lens; because of humanity’s flawed nature, Earth has been exiled from the rest of the solar system to prevent contamination. The books chronicle a trip to Mars, and then Venus, where man is just developing, and finally return to Earth, which is under the threat of a demonic invasion.
