In Paris, journalist Julia Jarmond investigates the 1942 Vel' d'Hiv' roundup and the subsequent disappearance of a ten-year-old girl, sixty years after the fact. Through her investigation, she discovers that her family is connected to the disappeared girl and begins to trace the youngster's steps through the terrible ordeal.
