Bookseller Kay Deacon learns that she has been left part of the late Tobias Garner's collection of antique books on condition she brings his records up to date. So when Tobias's nephew Marshall Garner accuses her of cultivating the old man's affections, Kay resolves to carry out Tobias's wishes and prove that she is not a gold digger.
