Solicitor Rose Epton, one day on her way home from Lewes Prison by train, reads of a schoolboy, Jason Cutler, killed by a hit and run driver late at night and also witnesses a young girl sitting opposite her behaving erratically. A few days later the girl is reported missing, so although puzzled but not directly involved, Rosa carries on with her normal work until a client she has recently defended on a drugs charge is found murdered in the grounds of Jason's school. Could there be a connection?
