With a borrowed video camera, women inmates give us an insider's view of life behind bars. The numbing routine of incarceration continues a legacy of pain and oppression that began in the earliest years. Witnessing this suffering, we are lead to examine fundamental notions of right and wrong, free will, social responsibility and how the Canadian penal system can respond effectively to women in crisis.
