Summary:
Once there were thousands of ponies that helped build and work Newfoundland but now they number only a hundred. Gary Barnes, Dr. Andy Fraser and other members of the Pony Society, have been trying to breed the few remaining ponies in order to preserve the breed. Over the past summer, mares and stallions were let loose on an abandoned island in Placentia Bay, Crawley's Island, as part of the breeding program. The second program features the foals, the next generation of Newfoundland ponies.
