This piece shows a very dark rocky shoreline at lower right against an unnaturally blue sea with white caps. An island is seen in the distance at left and a point of land at right with a lighthouse at top right (?Bonavista Lighthouse).

The piece signed "BLACKWOOD" was not painted by David Blackwood. We sent photographs of the seven works in this collection that we assumed were his work to Mr. Blackwood and have his reply describing the circumstances leading up to the painting of the other six works. However, he thinks that an owner at sometime assumed this piece was by him and presumed to add his name!
