Today, the chronicle of a small town in southern France's Beaujolais is considered a classic of satirical prose - it has seen many editions, a whole series of theater and film adaptations. The plot revolves around a seemingly trivial matter - the construction of a communal toilet... The construction finally split the whole of Zvonodrozdovo into two irreconcilable camps, which gave the author a suitable pretext for an incomparably juicy grotesque cartoon in which he copes with French conditions after the First World War with wit and charm war.
