Summary:
Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) provide financial and technical assistance in the development of small businesses and regional job creation. Business counselling is the most common form of client assistance. Business counselling includes accounting assistance, preparation and evaluation of business plans, and discussion of the clients' business ideas. The purpose of this report is to provide an assessment of the impact counselling activities at Newfoundland's CBDCs have had on clients. The report includes data on client satisfaction; awareness of the centre; assistance received; value of assistance; time saving; business start-ups; sources of financing; business improvements and expansions.
