The cat, Monty, was the genial and popular Pest Control Officer at the theatre. Also popular, if sometimes less genial, was Winstanley Fortescue currently rehearsing a forthcoming production. Unfortunately the theatre suddenly became fraught with dangers. Cat and man found themselves hurled together in a strange, uneasy alliance to save each other's lives and trap the killer.
