Summary:
Doctoral candidate Omar is awarded a grant to write the biography of Latin American writer Jules Gund. When Gund's estate denies Omar authorization to write the bio, he travels to Uruguay to meet Gund's 'family' in person. Living on an isolated and decaying estate, Gund's family is upset by Omar's arrival. But just as his presence upsets their existence, so too do their lives force Omar to question his own.
