The collapse of the inshore fishery has caused strife. The inshore fishermen believe the union bosses are siding with trawler fisherman who are accused of overfishing.

California bound - fish plant owner Eric King of Burnt Islands is making a small for tune selling fresh cod in the lucrative markets of southern California. Last year, King sold three and a quarter million pounds in the United States, much of it to trend-setting Californians.
