Summary:
South Coast summer - few fishermen in Newfoundland work as hard as those who live on the Island's south coast. With their coast ice-free year-round, these men fish eleven months of the year. After going trawling with longliners from Harbour Breton, we visit the cod, lobster, and salmon fisheries in the nearby communities of Boxey, Wreck Harbour, and English Harbour West.

Scallops, a last resort - Bernard Tucker's farm was carved out of the wilderness, back of Markland in the centre of the Avalon Peninsula. Land and Sea foll ows this energetic farmer from planting time in May to the late fall harvest.
