The small town of Gilchrist, Vermont, in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom, is home to America's most advanced maximum-security prison. When a riot allows inmates to escape, Gilchrist is outnumbered and under siege. A violent winter storm cuts off all access to the outside world, and a handful of survivors flee into the rugged timberland. But they soon become prey to a relentless killer with nothing to lose.
