The Conacher name is well known across the country as the first family of hockey. Continuing in the tradition, Brian Conacher brings 55 years of experience in the sport to life in As the Puck Turns . He is the son of legend Lionel Conacher, Canadas Athlete of the First Half-Century (1900- 1950), as well as the sixth family member to have played in the NHL. Playing in minor and major leagues, on Canadas Olympic and National teams, and then going on to coach and manage teams at the major professional level like the Edmonton Oilers, Brian knows and understands the game inside and out. In his years of hockey, Brian has seen the realities of the world of sport at every level and from many angles. From the early stages of his career, Brian offers up childhood memories about stars like Maurice Rocket Richard and Gordie Howe, playing at Maple Leaf Gardens and managing the building in later years.
