With aspirations of becoming a star entertainer, Tudor Morgan and his wife Karen decide to move from a small mining community to the hustle and bustle of Cardiff in search of a new life. Only finding sporadic stints in nightclubs, Tudor soon takes to busking, and it is not long before he is arrested for begging. After being paroled, Tudor attempts to make an honest living, but before long he regresses to his criminal ways and when a petty crime turns into something far more sinister, Karen becomes fully responsible for her life and the life of her daughter.
