Lila Archer, a young lonely woman in the small town of Lakeport California, is burdened with many worries. She's struggling in a menial job, juggling bills and caring for her ailing grandmother while trying to figure out how to manage the looming Christmas holiday. Her only solace is in the church nearby where God’s love and comforting hymns carry her through. Three days before Christmas Eve she is given an eviction notice. In desperation Lila pours out her pain in the confession booth. Michael Carmichael is back in church for a morning service. Lost in his own thoughts and reflections, he is startled into action in the middle of the sermon when an attractive young woman suddenly stands and stumbles. On impulse, he reaches out to steady her. She quickly recovers and exits but not before leaving a lasting impression on the young man. Filled with compassion, Michael quietly makes some enquiries. Lila’s prayers are answered in unexpected ways only God could orchestrate.
