Summary:
A look at how the Great Lakes can suddenly turn deadly. Storms have hit on Great Lakes waters with such fury that ships are caught off guard. The Edmund Fitzgerald drowned in the choppy water of the Great Lakes, killing 29 men as it sank, being only one of over 600 ships that have succumbed to these bodies of water. Historians talk about and show photographs from a four-day stretch in November 1913 when 273 people were killed because of the Great Lakes' storms. Meteorologists talk about how the conditions on the Great Lakes can change rapidly and how the "November Witch" can be particularly dangerous. Interviews with survivors of storms on the Great Lakes talk about their experiences and how they lived to talk about it.
