Fleming's town marshal, Rowe Harmon, faces a dilemma: the area's largest rancher, Burke Arnold, plans to drive his cattle through the main street, but a self-appointed preacher is stirring up the womenfolk to prevent it. Then, Arnold discovers someone has been rustling a few of his weaker calves, and then his daughter goes missing.
