Ned Parker is a hansom cab driver in London in the year 1870. Inquisitive and lively, he inherited his cab from his father who died under mysterious circumstances. One of his fares disappears -- literally. When next Ned sees him, the man is in the morgue where Ned has been taken by Detective Sergeant Jackson to identify the corpse. When Ned's fellow cabby Herbert Summers is arrested for murder, Ned rallies all London's 6,000 cabbies to help find the real culprit.
