Canada, end of the 1960s. Thousands of young natives, freed from boarding schools, try to survive in the district of East Vancouver, between prostitution, drugs and odd jobs. There's Maisie, who seems so strong; the discreet Lucy, blooming in motherhood; Clara, the rebel, engaged in the American Indian Movement; Kenny, who no longer knows how to stop fleeing, and, finally, Howie, sentenced for beating his former torturer.
