Summary:
This report presents an interpretation of the gravity, magnetic and geochemical data for the Ackley intrusive suite of southern Newfoundland and for the northeastern Gander Zone. New gravity data were collected in both areas, combined with existing gravity data, and analyzed in conjunction with digitized and filtered aeromagnetic and geochemical data to produce interpretations of the subsurface goelogy. The interpretation of the Ackley intrusive suite data was accomplished by developing a 3-D gravity inversion technique utilizing vertical prisms. The density and magnetic susceptibility data were used as constraints for modelling, by examining the variation of these properties throughout the study area.
